I found that this function is particular useful because when some kid or pet try to mess your computer up, it can protect your computer efficiently, all you have to do is press 5 times of the "option" key.

well lots of people do not like to watch ad in the youtube, even that is only 5 second. Today I discover a way to block the ad once for all!


first, of cause, open you safari. And then go to the menu bar on the top, find the Safari extension.

Then a extension page will open on the new window.

Second, press "command"+f, type in clicktoflash, and then search it. 

when you find it, install it, then all the ad will go away.

Recently, I discover a amazing app, the iStat menus, it is an app that help you to control and monitor the hardware of your mac. I found this app particular useful because it provide a quick to react to the problems that you encountered in your mac.

Recently, I discovered that there is a program on the mac that can help you do all the complicate work that you do not want to do. The name of the program is Automator, if you don't know how to find it, search it at the launchpad or the spotlight. just like this:

I remember that couple year ago when I apply to a summer camp, and I have to fill a pdf file. The file require the signature of my parent and my teacher. So I have to email the file to my teacher, but I don't want to show the part of the file that specifically address to my parents. Thus, I design to cut the file into individuals pages. I remember that it took me almost 2 hours with adobe. But I now find a new way to do it and it take only a second.

First, open the Automator, chose the application.

Then chose pdf on the left and chose split pdf and the drag it to the giant spare space on the right.

And, save the file.

Then.......

Drag the file to the PDF Cutter.......

And......done

How To Open The Trash Correctly

The trash can in mac is a protection of false deletion. However, many people don't know some of it extent function.




First of all, to avoid the annoying warning sign you can us the key combination 「"command"+"option"+"shift"+"delete" 」to delete things that in the trash.

Second, 「⌘+ Delete」functioning opposite in and out of trash bin. 

outside the trash bin, 「⌘+ Delete」puts things into the trash bin.
Inside the trash bin, 「⌘+ Delete」puts things out of trash bin.

Third, 「Option+ Delete」delete whatever that can not be deleted.
Sometimes, the computer may warn you that the content that you trying to delete is current using or can not be deleted for some reasons, when that kind of situations happened, 「Option+ Delete」can handle everything.

First of all, Beside what I introduce in the last blog about the function of the "command" key, there also a lot of things that you might not know about the "option" key.

If you press on the "option" key and click on the wifi status on the top task bar, you can see the more information regarding the wifi you connect on. And if you press on the "option" key and click on the battery, you can see more information of you battery status.

Practically, try to click on every while you pressing on the "option" key, it alway bring you surprise.

How make a boot disk for Mac os X

I remember once upon a time I broken my Mac pro by trying some new software, and when I took my macbook to the retail store, they said that it would took 40 dollar to help you re-install the system. I got angry, and I am writing this blog to help people who want to re-install the mac os.

In fact, there are a lot way to re-install the mac os, for instance, using codes that written by yourself, using third party software and so on. The way that I am introducing is the simplest and the safest way that I ever know, it is easy and no Compatibility issue. 

First

OK, The first step is preparation, you need the things that list below.

1. A empty USB Drive, make sure you back up the files, the process will erase the USB Drive

2. An official file of OS X Yosemite(or OS X Maverick, I have not try other vision), you can find it on the AppStore.

3. If you download the file for the Mac AppStore, it usually begin install by it self, you need to stop that.

4. If you find the file from  somewhere else, you need to move the file to the Application folder.

Second

Plugin your USB Drive, and go to [Application] -> [Utilities] and find the Disk Utilities.

1.Find your USB Drive in the left column, and click on it.

2.Find the partition button in the top column.

3.Then choose 1 partition on the partition layout.

4.Write whatever name you want to call you USB Drive.

5.Choose Mac OS extended (Journaled) for the format.

6.Choose GUID partition table in the option.

7.Click on Apply to format your Drive.

Third

open the terminal to make your boot disk.

you need to confirm the the “install OS X Yosemite” is on the “application” folder.

Go to [Application] -> [Utilities] and find the terminal 

copy the following code

     sudo /Applications/ Install OS X Yosemite.app         

       /Contents/Resources/ createinstallmedia   

       --volume /Volumes/  "the name of your USB Drive" 

       --applicationpath  Applications/Install OS X Yosemite.app

       --nointeraction

4. paste it in the terminal, and press enter

5. after you press the enter, it will ask you to put you administrator password. 

6. and then, you should seeing this:

Erasing Disk: 0%... 10%... 20%... 30%...100%...

Copying installer files to disk...

Copy complete.

Making disk bootable...

Copying boot files...

Copy complete.

Done.


Then, it is all done, if you restart the computer and keep pressing the "option" button, you should see your boot disk.
